Creating a Facebook AD Campaign in Mailchimp

Hey there, web world. It’s been a long time since I’ve posted, but that just means we are SUPER busy with our clients. And that’s never a bad thing. The weather on the Space Coast this weekend has me as chipper as ever, and I know my plans include being outside a lot over the next two days.

Before you slip away into endless sunlight and margaritas, I want to share a cool update that happened in the social media world recently. MailChimp announced a new feature in March that allows users to now create Facebook Ads on their platform.

What’s the benefit? The biggest benefit of creating a Facebook Ad Campaign through MailChimp is that it allows you to utilize your existing email list for some unique targeting methods. For instance, you can target your current audience, or you can target Facebook users who mirror your current list. Or as MailChimp says, “create a lookalike audience.”

The end product is still the same- an ad on Facebook, so why bother going through MailChimp? It’s going to allow you to do this hyper-targeting described above, which is MUCH more than you can currently do through the interest and demographic targeting alone. Facebook collects a lot of data on its users, so by allowing Facebook to use that data to mirror your current list, you’ll be able to reach so many more potential customers than before. This is a great feature for small businesses looking to grow their customer reach.

Another benefit is a detailed reporting feature in MailChimp that shows you the actual ROI. If you own a store, then it allows you to connect your business as well to see any first-time customers or even track new orders coming in. It provides a clearer look at how well your marketing tactics are performing.
